Arrange this edge parallel with the end of the paper.
The plastic sheet is peeling off my book cover.
With the cover of your book laying flat against the left side of the paper peel back the right half of the paper from the laminate film.
Leave a 1 inch 2 5 cm space between the book and the end of the paper so you have room to wrap the plastic over the inside cover.
You might notice spots where the color comes off if the book is rubbed against something.
Place the book on the paper with the text block 1 inch 2 5 cm from the end.
The adhesive found in the plastic melts during the lamination process damaging the irreplaceable document.
It also puts off a gas that creates a chemical reaction when bonded to the paper.
You can repair it a little bit by putting a blanket on the peeled layer and iron over it slowly again and again until the heat makes the plastic layer stick back to the printed paper layer.
The text block is the opposite end from the spine.
Make sure to peel the paper back until the focal point of the v is exposed.
The pieces that are peeled off can then easily be removed by tearing them off leaving only a tough flexible film on top of the exposed paper.
You can take it off but it will make your book more susceptible to tears and general wearing.
